Patient Registration Coordinator

First Touch Position Description

Classification:  Non-Exempt

Reports To:  First Touch Team Lead

Administers rapid reception of patients; greets patients with a smiling face; ensures patients are comfortable and safe; answers and responds to patient’s phone calls; collects payments and post charges; maintains and balances cash drawer at the end of each shift; protects patient and company privacy and confidentiality guidelines; performs other duties as directed.  


  • Greet patients in a warm, friendly manner, with a smiling face during check-ins and outs; maintains and balances cash drawer at the end of each shift; ensures funds collected during the day balance; reports all outages to the Team Lead.
  • Verifies and updates patients’ insurance information; ensure completeness and accuracy of patients’ insurance forms prior to submitting.
  • On-stage/off stage behavior must be professional at all times; promptly responds to patient’s phone calls and inquiries; collects payments of charges; post charges and assists patients with any problems that they may encounter.
  • Keeps the work area clean through out the day; sets up/cleans area for the next morning shift.
  • Complies with all local, state, and federal regulations; maintains patient privacy and protest operations by keeping patient care information confidential; complies with HIPAA guidelines; establishes a high level of professional standards and applies those standards to the treatment and care of patients.

  • High School Diploma or its Equivalency and/or an Associate’s Degree in Allied Health Science preferred.


  • None


  • At least 1 year of experience in the healthcare field performing Front Desk responsibilities.  The candidate must have strong knowledge of health insurances.


Abilities include but not limited to:  caring attitude toward patients and co-workers; critical thinking, interpersonal, speaking and active listening skills; detail oriented, good stamina and coordination; ability to work in a fast pace environment; multitask; knowledge of general office procedures and equipment; and ability to work at least three 12-hour shifts per week.
